Recreating my favorite sweater on minecraft

05 Jan 2026

You know life's been getting tough when you end up starting a Minecraft world just to decompress. That was me somewhere in late November when I decided to build the lighthouse landscape from my sweater.

I originally found this pullover at a thrift store back in 2022, and since then, I've been fascinated by the illustration. It's sooo cozy, it looks like the only warm and light place in an endless cold and a dark ocean.

I got curious and tried looking online for the original drawing. All I know is what's on the label: the brand is Jerzees NuBlend and it was made in Guatemala (which makes it very fun that it ended in Costa Rica, possibly after belonging to some North American). I looked it up in google but found nothing, just went down a rabbit hole of 90s sweaters and christmas paintings

Best photo I could find of me wearing the sweater and there's a cat hiding the lighthouse

Anyways, I've always wanted to build it on Minecraft, to have a better sense of how it would be to visit that landscape in real life. Like when you're little and imagine yourself exploring inside the paintings that were in your house? I saw a TikTok about it , so I know I'm not the only one.

I wanted to save the idea for the next 2-week-phase minecraft server with friends, but suddenly I couldn't wait. So I jumped in a new world, spent like two hours looking for a good place and got to work. Here's the result:

I'm no expert builder, but I do like to build stuff every once in a while. My favorite part was doing the interior, and imagining what kind of cozy rooms would be inside of the lighthouse. (Click the images for bigger size)

The Oct-Nov-Dec season in the Tropics

16 Nov 2025

Throughout these months, I always see a lot of people on the internet talking about Autumn things. Like the colder climate, the exclusive foods and the media they like. And I sooo get it, Fall is definitely my favorite season. Or it would be, because here in the tropics we don't have seasons (well, not those seasons).

Still, this is without a doubt, my favorite time of year. And I wanna romanticize it as well.

On here, this trimester is a time of change

I love reflections in puddles

October is the last month of the rainy season. And also its heaviest, because we get a lot of storms. There are days when you wake up to rain, and go to sleep with rain. This can be super cozy or super depressing, but in a cool dark mysterious way. (But also a lot of people end up losing their houses or even lives because of a flood, and every year it seems to get worse, so I don't wanna romanticize it too much)

We also have Halloween this month. It is an imported tradition, but so is most of everything else, so who cares. And I feel the climate fits with it. For some reason, October nights are the darkest of the year, and have this somber vibe to them. My favorite thing is when I'm home, it rains all day, and the only moment when you can finally go for a walk is at like 8:00 PM and everything is chilly and full of puddles.

November is a transitional period. It starts the same, rainy days and dark sunsets. Until one day, you wake up and it's the first sunny morning in weeks. Or even better, the first beautiful Christmas sunset (more on that later). It's also the last month of school. And my birthday! So it's a period of closure and expectation just before the crazy rhythm of the Holiday Season.

My birthday is either this or a storm. Always a gamble

December is when the sunny season starts. But it's not hot-summer yet. Instead, the climate is chilly, windy and dry. And there's this beautiful clear sunsets. And for me, going shopping around christmas is beautiful, everything is decorated, there's good music and a lot of people being jolly. The traffic is crazy though.

So, in the span of a few weeks, we go from dark and rainy to clear and sunny. But I feel like it's not only the climate that changes. Somehow people tend to do more things at this time, maybe because the year is ending. The plot always goes crazy. And something that's inevitable is that I'm always a different person at the end of December, than I was at the start of October.
