Development

In this page you can find info about all the updates I've done, the future things I plan to add to the website and the process and resources I've used to make it.

I'm not even close to actually knowing anything about coding and web development, but I'm always open to share what little I know. So if you happen to have any questions or recommedations, you can contact me at: translucent.skies.cshm@gmail.com

Updates

  • 26-oct-2025:

Website launched! With the homepage, “about” pages, development pages and the Recommendation and LPWR sections

RoadMap

  • Modify the layout to make it mobile adaptable (at least in a basic way)
  • Code the base for the spanish version of the site and translate all content up to that point
  • Start with the blog. Make a blog homepage and a first article!
  • Start with the Gallery section. It's gonna be basically sub-webistes with smaller projects. The first project, I think, is gonna be a collection of photos I've taken with my film cameras
  • Make a Collection section (where I collect and showcase content from the internet) The first collection will be of GeoCities sites
  • Make Garden Section. This is more of a personal project (well, the whole site is, but, you know). Basically I have saved a lot of recommedations across multiple Social Media Platforms, to the point that all of it is buried under more content. So I wanna take a look at that and organize it in a pretty page. And if it's useful for someone, that's great!
  • Make a Tutorial Section? There are some things that I've implement on this site that I couldn't find any info on, so maybe I can create some resources for the future people searching the same things on google.

Resources and process

Learning to code

I went from 0 knowledge to making this website in a couple months and all thanks to the MDM web development course. It's great, easy to follow, well structured, and with a lot of practice exercises. Also it's 100% FREE. It starts with the absolute basics and teaches you enough to start messing around in NeoCities.

I do recommend starting to work on your own project parallel to taking the course. Even if it's just doodling ideas, prototyping small elements or looking for references in NeoCities or Pinterest. That will help keep you inspired and prevent you from getting burnt out.

Where to work

I made all this using the program Visual Studio Code on my Windows 10 PC. I set it up following the guide on the same MDM course .

Inspiration

While working on this site, I've been browsing a lot of NeoCities to see what people have done and get inspired. I've also looked at old archived GeoCities sites from the 90s and 2000s to get ideas directly from the source.

I didn't really use Pinterest before this, but it's been great for finding aesthetic references and resources. I also had a TikTok playlist from years back with cool pictures and videos that I revisited to define what style I was going for.

So anyways, here's a list of NeoCities websites that were great inspirations to my own site:
