- And last year I finally started listening to Pop
Alvvays
My favorite band since 2018. It's fuzzy, nostalgic and can feel like both a sunny day and a storm.
Imaginal Disk
(and Mag Bay in general) LOVE the aesthetic. I've listened to it like a 1000 times just this year.
The Beatles
But when they're at their most whimsical.
Fav
Album: Sgt. Peppers
Fav song: It depends.
Jordana
Possibly my top artist of 2025. Each of her albums it's a different vibe but they are feel so her.
Clairo's Charm
It changed me. The type of music where you listen to a particular section and are like "damn".
Elia Y Elizabeth
Teenage sister duo from the 70s Colombia. It's like if Plaza Sésamo had the instrumentals of The Doors.
The Sundays
Like the soundtrack to the perfect (anti)romcom. Sad, happy, angry, hopeless, hopeful at the same time.
Sidney Gish
I've never felt so related to an artist. She used the word 'therefore' in a song. Who the fuck does that???
Movies
- Pretentious and cheesy romantic/anti-romantic comedy-dramas
- Coming of age (of any age, not only teenagers)
- Road movies
- Horror movies when it's October (specially body horror or monsters)
And sometimes I do deepdives on a specific type of movie. Last was Westerns.
Eternal Sunshine
I love the use of dream-like editting and memories to tell a story about love. Also, this scene always gets me.
Chungking Express
Great characters in an unmachtable atmosphere. I wanna start voiceover-ing my life like that
Y Tu Mamá También
Bisexual-ass movie with the best narrator in history while, portraying perfectly the feel of a LATAM roadtrip
Videogames
Favorite genres: I'm open to play anything anything with an entertaining gameplay or an engaging story. But I usually stick to singleplayer, action, rpg, open-world or platformers.
Night in The Woods
A game purely based on the vibes of being 20 and lost. Basically small town unemployment simulator.
Crosscode
It's the perfection of the 2D Zelda formula and with a great story and lovable characters.
Red Dead Redemption 2
I love the way it makes you connect with the characters like no other medium can. Also I love cowboys.
Hades
Gotta be the most addictive Roguelite. I love the way the story progresses little by a little and the characters.
Outer Wilds
Undescribable one in a life time expierence. And apart from that, exploring Space it's just so fun to do!
Misc
Some random things that I also like
Arroz con atún
Like tuna-fried rice?? Idk. Top tier food though.
Light Blue Color
In Spanish it it its own color, not only a shade of blue. it's called Celeste, and it's my favorite. HM: Green
Adult Swim
One of the few places where corporate meets creative freedom
The concept of an Art Fag
Like in the movie. I wouldn't mind being called that, it's accurate, I love the Talking Heads
TV Series
Favorite genre: Interesting characters doing boring daily things. Or boring characters doing interesting things? OR boring characters doing boring things but told in a interesting way.
Joe Pera talks with You
Comfort show. It's just him, talking about stuff and living his small town life with the driest humour ever.
The Bear
I just love the way it uses montages and how it makes me feel things for these characters so intensely
Books and comics
I don't read half as much as I like to, so here are some books that I read in the last year, and my two all time favorite graphic novels.
Favorite genre: I tend to read whatever catches my attention. And that tends to be mostly classics because that's what you hear more about. I think I haven't found my specific favorite type of book yet.
